Aftercare Instructions for Botulinum Toxin Treatment

Overview

Below are some important instructions and information regarding your recent Botulinum Toxin treatment.

Results will begin to appear around 5 days after treatment, with optimal results 2 weeks post-treatment.

Results will normally last 3 to 4 months, after which muscle activity will gradually return and wrinkles may reappear.

You will be invited for a review appointment 2 weeks after treatment to assess results and make any necessary adjustments. It is vital that you attend this appointment.

Key Points To Remember

• 

  Stay upright for at least 4 hours after treatment.
  

• 

  Gently exercise the treated muscles for the first 4 hours - this will help with the absorption of Botulinum Toxin.

• 

  Do not drink alcohol for at least 24 hours after treatment.

• 

  Do not engage in heavy physical activity (e.g. gym workouts, running) for at least 24 hours after treatment.

• 

  Do not touch, rub or massage the treated areas.

• 

  Do not apply makeup for at least 6 hours after treatment.

• 

  Do not lie flat or bend forward excessively for at least 4 hours after treatment.

• 

  Do not use any facials, chemical peels, mirconeedling or any skin treatments for at least 2 weeks after treatment.

• 

  Follow any specific instructions issued by our team.

Possible Side Effects

Mild side effects can occur and will usually resolve on their own within a few days. These can incldue:

• 

  Redness or swelling at injection sites, usually resolving within a few hours.
  

• 

  Bruising, usually resolving within a few days.

• 

  Mild headache or tightness in the treated areas.

You must contact us immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

• 

  Drooping eyelids
  

• 

  Uneven smile or eyebrow asymmetry

• 

  Visual disturbances

• 

  Persistent or worsening symptoms

Important Notes

Botulinum Toxin is a temporary treatment. For best results, regular maintenance treatments every 3 to 4 months are recommended.
