BY WEST END DENTAL
A wide range of dental sedation services available in North Wales
Inhalation Sedation to Put You At Ease
Inhalation sedation, also known as Relative Analgesia, ‘Gas & Air’ or ‘Laughing Gas’, is used to provide a mild sedative effect during many types of dental treatment. Patients remain conscious throughout.
The gas used, nitrous oxide, is delivered through a small mask worn on the nose. It is perfectly safe and the effects normally wear off after just a few minutes. It is a superb way to assist patients who may be nervous about dental treatment, but do not require the heavier sedative effect of intravenous.
We offer Inhalation Sedation for both child and adult patients who are suitable in our Colwyn Bay clinic.
Intravenous Sedation for Nervous Patients
Intravenous sedation, or IV sedation, involves the use of a sedative drug delivered directly to your bloodstream.
Unlike many dental sedation providers, we use dedicated Specialist Anaesthetists to deliver superior safety and comfort as part of the treatment we offer.
Intravenous sedation is useful for patients who suffer from dental anxiety, and for whom inhalation sedation may not be effective.
Suitable patients can take advantage of intravenous sedation in our Colwyn Bay clinic.
‘No Pain’ Cleaning
We are proud to be rolling out the latest technology in dental cleaning and hygiene maintenance. EMS Air-Flow® uses air, water and a small amount of powder to replace a traditional ‘scaler’ with comfortable, almost painless deep cleaning to remove destructive biofilm, calculus and heavy stains. Effective 1 March 2018, all West End Dental Members in any of our clinics will benefit from EMS Air-Flow, for no additional charge.
